Promethean ACTIV board interactive whiteboard provides long term reliability and durability with pinpoint accuracy and fast response plus a manufacturers three year onsite warranty. You connect the interactive whiteboard to your PC and projector.

Ideal for use in larger classrooms the proACTIV allows maximum use of your wall space. Despite its dimensions the proACTIV is much lighter than other interactive whiteboards of its size and can easily be used in conjunction with the ACTIVstand (extra).

Both teachers and learners interact with the software using Prometheans cordless, battery free ACTIVpen, which provides the same function as your mouse but is used directly on the boards surface.

Promethean ACTIV boards are supplied with either ACTIVstudio2 or ACTIVprimary software, developed to help teachers add real impact to lesson delivery.

ACTIVstudio2 is packed with tools and resources designed for secondary and higher education students while ACTIVprimary has been specifically designed to inspire primary and nursery school children.

Please note

Each board is supplied with software, wall-mount brackets, 2 ACTIVpens, cables and user guide, 3-year onsite manufactuers warranty; 5-year manufacturers warranty on writing surface. The ACTIV 20m serial cable (optional extra) replaces the supplied 8 metre cable. Up to 2 ACTIV USB cables (optional extras) can be added to the supplied USB cable to give a total of 15m. ACTIVlink (optional extra) enables wireless connection between the board and your computer.

ACTIVprimary software licence

Customers purchasing an ACTIV board will be supplied a copy of ACTIVprimary which permits you to install and use one copy of this application on a single computer that acts as host to a Promethean ACTIV board. Additionally, this license permits installation for use in preparatory work on the license holder's hardware or on the user's personal hardware on or off site. This license for preparation is restricted to five (5) users per ACTIV board...and this is the same for upgrades.

The PRESENTA board uses the latest advances in digital electromagnetic sensing technology. A small magnetic field is created over the surface of the board, which is activated by holding the specially designed pen in proximity of the board's surface. The pen reflects a signal back to the board, which is then sent to the computer as an X/Y co-ordinate.

This enables the computer to understand where on the surface of the board the user is pointing, thus tracking pen movement just like a mouse. Use of this digital technology enables fast, stable and accurate tracking.

To facilitate this technology, a special pen has been designed, which is ergonomic, lightweight and cordless. Based on the Rotring Artpen, the pen has been designed to offer comfort and balance to the user, giving an intuitive, natural feel to every presentation. The Pen is battery-free so there is no need to worry about charging or replacing batteries. It supports both left and right mouse clicks and, used in conjunction with Px software, enables users to have full control over their presentation including multiple pen color selection, from a single device. Two pens are supplied with each board and additional ones may be purchased thereafter.

To enable the PRESENTA board to be used over a long period in harsh environments, it is manufactured with a tough Formica surface. The absence of a soft membrane type surface means that it is not touch sensitive and so cannot be used with the finger (or any other object). The boards surface is matt based and is ideal for use with digital projectors. This surface prevents projector "hot spots" and screen glare from reflecting back towards the audience.

The PRESENTA board can be mounted on the wall or, for added mobility, onto the easy-to-assemble stand. Once positioned, getting started with the PRESENTA board is simple.

ActivHub is a specially designed USB device that enables wireless connectivity for the ActivBoard range through Promethean's ActivAir RF technology. Like Bluetooth, ActivAir "channel hops" to avoid interference, and operates in the same highly regulated and globally approved 2.4Ghz frequency (with a range of 100 meters in free space). Because ActivAir is Promethean's own technology, risk of interference from other devices is significantly less than with Bluetooth or other similar devices. ActivAir also enables simultaneous use of multiple Learner Response devices and handheld telepointing peripherals such as ActivSlates through a single computer connection.
